Looking fit and relaxed, and dressed in black leather, he covers a shrewd song list encompassing early rockabilly hits, including two of my favorites here. Bassist Bill Black had died in Elvis performed informal sessions in front of a live studio audience, where he could re-create his rebel image wearing a black leather outfit.

The Jam session was exciting and explodes with raw talent. This "Elvis" special finds the most significant figure in rock history at his very best and staking his claim as one of the greatest performers of all time. It just seems so natural to him. Pay particular attention as Elvis sings and looks at the audience and backup musicians as he plays.

Nearly all guitar players are constantly looking down at the guitar and watching their fingers while playing. Not Elvis. He just gets absolutely lost in the sounds he's making, reflecting in what Scotty Moore once called "nervous energy. The guitar Elvis is shown playing is a sunburst Gibson Super CES, the electrified version of the big-bodied acoustic beauty that Gibson first began producing in That is the guitar you see Elvis playing on these two songs and also on the Blue Christmas song.

The role of each musician at the two sit-down performances was:. Elvis Presley: vocals, guitars acoustic and electric - He and Scotty Moore use the same ones and swap them.

Fontana: drumming, using a guitar case, Baby What You Want Me To Do - Elvis Presley - 68 Comeback Special (DVD). Elvis did some great things after this special, but nothing that captures the raw power of his performances on this '68 Comeback Special.

Obviously the 68 comeback is a high point in Elvis career and imo music history so my review is going to focus on the new box set. Nothing else needs to be said Question: Are there any surprises in terms of content?

Answer: No, all material has been released before, but there are a number of reasons this is a must have set. First, this is the ultimate compilation. For those who are holding out for the 60th anniversary version with new songs and video, you are going to be sorely disappointed. According to the sleeve on the front and back, this is everything Sony has in the vaults. That's not to say that somewhere down the road there may be newly discovered recordings and I'm sure there are some hardcore fans out there that are offended that the occasional cough or instrumental didn't make the cut that's on the FTD versions, but let's be realistic, this is a mainstream release.

Second, this set exudes quality. The first contains 5 CD's and 2 Blu-ray discs. All the discs are secured in a cardboard insert and is a massive improvement over other boxsets like A Boy From Tupelo, where you had to bend and pull the discs out by the edges. The second insert is a gorgeous 80 page color book, containing just about everything you need to know.

As an Elvis Baby What You Want Me To Do - Elvis Presley - 68 Comeback Special (DVD) for most of my life, I have lost count of the different versions of the '68 Comeback I've owned, Let Yourself Go, Tiger Man, Memories, Burbank '68 etc, but this is by far the most comprehensive and best version I have ever owned. This is an early Christmas gift from my wife so I am writing this review. I am so glad I took the plunge on this boxset because when it come's to The Kings legendary Comeback Special this is a must own.

I viewed the Blu ray's first and while not a ground breaking upgrade in picture quality they are an upgrade over the previous dvd boxset released in The PQ is much more sharper and crisper and the colors are spot on. The only complaint is the mono 2.

I have no clue why they dropped the 5. Does it sound bad on my Surround Sound system? No but I would have rather had the 5. That being said. If people are complaining about the Video of these Blu rays then you need a better tv. Now for the cd's. Yes they have been released before but for a guy like me who didnt have them, especially the rehersal material, this is a BIG plus and I enjoyed every bit of what I heard and the music flowed beautifully through my system.

The packaging and booklet is also beautifully done. To wrap it up. If you love The King's 68 Special as much as I do, and even if you have all the previous releases of this material, this is STILL a must have because with this package you get everything in one glorious set.

And to have the Stand up Shows, Sit Down shows and the Special itself on Blu ray for the first time Baby What You Want Me To Do - Elvis Presley - 68 Comeback Special (DVD) worth it alone. So my advise is that this is a must have and a job well done. Worth every penny and more. Probably the nicest packaging on an official Elvis release, So much detail was put into this Baby What You Want Me To Do - Elvis Presley - 68 Comeback Special (DVD) its a shame the content wasn't checked before release.

I bet they will release a single deluxe Blu-Ray edition with this corrected. When they offer a corrected replacement disk to the people who purchased this set I'll raise this to 5 stars. Zur Box selbst kann ich nur sagen: Sehr ansprechend. Was ich schon mal sehr gut finde. Lassen wir sie in dem Irrglauben. So ganz entspricht das nicht der Wahrheit. Das z. Die ist hier wie auch auf der alten DVD zu finden. Was somit ne falsche Angabe ist.

Hier sollte man sicher keine Bildtechnischen Wunder erwarten. Ich bin zufrieden. So wie ich es am liebsten mag. Translate review to English. Elvis presley undoubtedly at his very best, like an unleashed tiger, after years of frustration doing silly movies, elvis was back with a vengeance!! The picture on blu ray is very good, considering it was a TV show 50years old the sound finally mixed well, different angle shots, the whole thing is done more modern and the hours both visually, and on audio cd is incredible value, I myself have been an ELVIS fan for nearly 50years and this is the best version of this historic event by far, also shows the humour and how nervous he was until a few lyrics, a look around the crowd and, bingo what a performance, yes I do understand Baby What You Want Me To Do - Elvis Presley - 68 Comeback Special (DVD) it Is over priced,!!

Terrible quality. Tbe picture quality is worse then my old vhs version. Load more international reviews. Mais attention, marketing quand tu nous tiens A voir Finally it's here all video recorded for the 68 Elvis special plus 5 cds The Blu Rays are superb and all takes are on the cds an added bonus is the quality book which comes along with this superb package.

Buy buy buy!!!!!!! The original 68 special, plus the 2 sit down and stand up shows look great on blu ray. Also contains a very informative book on the special. One person found this helpful. Optisch toll aufgemachtes Set und macht richtig was her.

Man sollte hier jetzt nicht das ,Super-Wunder-Bild" erwarten. Ob bzw wann ich Blu-Ray 2 nochmal ansehen werde Love this box set and the packaging is beautiful! Although the blu rays are no better picture quality than the old dvds released a few years ago! What a set Every thing you want to see and hear from Elvis's 68 special Fantastic value. Very Good. The King of Rock & Roll's Christmas television special and corresponding LP needed no other title than ELVIS (emblazoned in letters as tall as the record itself), but it became enshrined as "The '68 Comeback Special."During the late '60s, several years removed from live performance of any kind, Elvis had become something previously unimaginable: safe.9/
